Hey all!

I've noticed that using the air conditioning in my RZ significantly reduces the driving range by about 20%. This translates to an energy consumption of around 6,000 watts. Interestingly, this high consumption persists regardless of the temperature setting or fan speed. Even with the air conditioning turned off but the blowers running, the energy consumption remains unusually high.

Given that the Lexus RZ is designed to be energy-efficient, with features like radiant heating that consume about 8% less energy compared to standard climate control systems, this elevated consumption is concerning.

Has anyone else experienced similar issues? Are there specific settings or conditions that might be contributing to this increased energy usage? Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Your findings on the RZ's AC system are very concerning. A 20% range reduction and constant 6,000-watt draw regardless of settings, is highly unusual. It points to a potential hardware or software problem possibly a constantly running compressor or an electrical issue. You should insist that Lexus perform a full diagnostic and investigate for firmware updates or faulty parts.
