Just got myself an AAWireless dongle for my Lexus RZ, but I’m having a bit of a love-hate relationship with it. Sometimes it’s great, other times it’s like it’s taking a nap and just drops the connection. Anyone else had this issue or got any magic tricks to make it more stable? Appreciate any help! thanks!

I was having some connection issues with my Android Auto Wireless, but I figured out a simple solution. In the AAWireless app settings, there's an option called 'Dongle Mode.' It's likely enabled by default, but I had to DISABLE it to get it working properly.

It seems counterintuitive, but that's what fixed it for me. I wanted to share this tip in case any other owners are experiencing the same problem. I haven't changed any other settings, and I'm using the latest firmware for both Android Auto and AAWireless. Hopefully, this helps!

Oh, that’s interesting! So turning off “Dongle Mode” actually did the trick? Did you notice any change in the connection speed or reliability after that?

The intermittent connection drops are likely due tosignal interference, software glitches, and the inherent variability of wireless Android Auto. Make sure both your phone and the dongle have the latest software updates. Look for potential sources of interference like nearby WiFi hotspots or Bluetooth devices. If these troubleshooting steps are ineffective, consider performing a factory reset on the dongle. If the problem persists it may indicate a compatibility issue between the dongle and the RZ's infotainment system.
