This is driving me crazy. I've got a weird AC problem in my brand new 2023 Lexus. It makes this annoying clicking noise when the AC is on high. The dealership had it for two weeks, tore into the AC unit, and said it's "normal." Seriously?

An expensive car with a clicking AC? I'm not buying it.

I'm dealing with that flaky issue too, and I’m pretty sure it's tied to the AC. I'm on the fence about booking an appointment since I have this gut feeling they might not have a real fix. Anyway, I went ahead and scheduled one for the 30th to have mine checked out. Fingers crossed they figure it out!

I'm intrigued by this! It sounds like there might be some hidden quirks in these cars that we haven't discovered and dealership is not disclosing. I'll definitely keep an eye out for the same, especially when I tweak the settings. Did it happen again after you got your car back from the dealership?

If you can, try to start recording the issue on video. After four failed repair attempts, you might be able to hit them with the lemon law and get Lexus to buy the car back. It’s a pain, but it could be the push they need to actually fix the problem.

I've been adjusting the fan speed a lot, and it's making a strange noise. It's worse when I quickly change the speed, especially from high to low and back up again. It sounds like the fan is having trouble keeping up. Sometimes the noise happens even when I haven't touched the controls, but only when the fan is running at level 5 or higher. Have you noticed this too?

Could it be the actuator? I've had that issue in my Fords where it makes weird sounds and it turned out to be the actuator.

The dealership's "normal" response to your clicking AC is a clear indication they did not put in the necessary effort to fix the problem. You invested in a premium vehicle and a clicking AC is not part of that investment. They need to do more than just brush you off. Seek out a second opinion.

I had a Lexus engineer check out my RZ, and they’re still not sure what's causing the noise. They confirmed it's a common issue across different locations and even recreated it on other RZs. They think it could be related to the heating/cooling system or back pressure. Removing the air filter, closing vents, or squeezing ducts under the dash stopped the noise, but no clear fix yet.
