Lexus RZ Mysterious Mirror Light

Just snagged my new RZ and spotted this weird bright light on the driver’s side mirror while backing out of the garage last Friday night. It was a one-time thing and hasn’t shown up again. Anyone got any ideas what that light is all about?

I think that lights up when your car senses that you're near an object or you're about to hit something.

That light is most likely tied to the blind spot monitor or reverse assist, possibly triggered by the angle or lighting in your garage. If it hasn’t come on since, it’s probably not a malfunction. Check the manual for mirror light features, Lexus sometimes packs in hidden tech that surprises even seasoned owners.

That feature is kinda wild! I park in this super tight spot at my apartment complex, right up against a wall so I can dodge the chaos of other cars. Never noticed those lights popping on before though. Now I’m wondering, could dealers activate them, like how they can make the key fob roll down the windows?

That’s an intriguing feature! I park up against a wall in my apartment complex too, and I’ve never noticed these lights come on. Odd that they don’t work as welcome lights when unlocking the car. My previous car had some powerful puddle lights that lit up the ground nicely at night.

Since it was a one-time thing, it might have been a random electrical anomaly. I've seen some cars have brief glitches that never happen again. I'd recommend keeping an eye on it and seeing if it happens again. If it does, definitly take it to the dealer. I've learned that sometmes it's best to observe before taking action.
