I’ve been debating whether it’s worth investing in a separate set of winter tires and rims for my Lexus RZ. With my old RX 400h, we just swapped the tires seasonally, but it cost around $300 each time, which added up to about $600 a year. It worked, but the hassle and cost of going to the shop every season was always a pain.

This time around, I’m considering buying a full set of winter tires with matching rims for the RZ, so I can just do the swap at home. I’ve been quoted around $3,000 for the tires, rims, mounting, and balancing. It’s a big upfront cost, but it feels like it might pay off in the long run, not to mention the convenience of not having to schedule shop visits twice a year.

What do you all think? Is it worth the investment for a second set of tires and rims, or is seasonal swapping at the shop still the better option? Would love to hear how others are managing their RZ’s tires for winter and summer driving!

It seems like a wise long-term decision to purchase a second set of tires and rims. It is convenient and may save you time and trouble, particularly when it comes to your RZ's requirements.
