So I’m eyeing the Lexus RZ 450e as a surprise for my wife. I’ve been knee-deep in reviews since I’m not super clued up on Lexus, but she’s a big fan. I stumbled upon this Steer by Wire thing in the RZ 450e - it sounds pretty slick with less steering wheel fuss, better road feel, and some cool lane-keeping tech.

Has anyone heard anything about this system? Is it just flashy marketing or is it actually as awesome as it sounds? If you’re rocking an RZ 450e, I'd love to hear how it drives!

I’m a big fan of Lexus, but I’d approach Steer by Wire with some cautious optimism. It’s a pretty new tech, and while it’s supposed to be more responsive and smooth, there’s always the question of reliability and how it holds up long-term. If your wife values the comfort and reliability Lexus is known for, it’s still a great car even without Steer by Wire. Maybe see if your local dealer offers a test drive of a model equipped with it so you can judge for yourself?
