I'm new to EVs, and I'm interested in the Lexus RZ. I was researching online and discovered that the RZ's range varies. Some used models include a battery percentage, while others do not. Those with higher battery percentages appear to have a newer software update.

Does this software update affect the car's range on a single charge? How far can I drive if the air conditioning is set to a constant temperature? I'm not a speed demon, since I'll be using the RZ primarily for family trips.

It would be wonderful if someone with a RZ could share their thoughts.

I leased about a month ago. RZ450e with 18" wheels and core package delete. About 1,000 miles of mostly urban/suburban driving so far. temperatures in the 70 to 90 range. At 100%, I get an estimated range of 251 miles without HVAC. Car reports 4.0 miles per kilo Watt hour. I use the maximum regenerative braking setting. I use either custom setting (motor on eco, steering on sport) or sport.

In my experience, AC (haven't needed heat yet) will cut into range bout 10-20 miles. I do not have a lot of highway driving miles yet.

20" wheels will eat your range, too. Don't get them.

As long as there is an 18,500 lease cash incentive on these, there is no point in buying new or used. You should lease, or lease with the intention of buying at some point.

I can't say how much the software update(s) have improved the car, but I would definitely make sure the software is updated.

With lease cash, RZs are low-key the best bang-for-your-buck EVs on the market right now.
