Stalling Issues

I’m having a bit of a hiccup with my 450e – it keeps stalling out when I try to accelerate from a stop. Super frustrating! It’s happened a couple of times now, and the dealer’s coming up blank. Anyone else run into this? How do you handle this mess?

Before stepping on the accelerator pedal, make sure your foot is completely off the brake. When you step both the brake and accelerator at the same time, the car will react as you described.

Mine’s been solid so far, but now you’ve got me wondering if this could be a more widespread thing. Does it happen every time you accelerate from a stop, or is it more random? Maybe try keeping an eye on when it happens, like does it occur more in Eco mode or with regen settings cranked up? Might help give the dealer more to go on.

I think it’s probably something to do with the safety system. So, I was at a traffic light, tried to accelerate, but the car just barely crawled instead of speeding up. Turns out, the sensors picked up a car way too close beside me and decided to slow me down until it passed and got ahead. Looks like the safety system might be the issue here.

Have you tried contacting Lexus customer service about this? They might be able to help or suggest a different dealership.
