What do those stop lights mean?

Okay, so I'm totally lost in the settings menu. There's this thing under Settings and Meter that shows stop lights. Like, actual stop lights. Anyone know what this is even for? Is it some kind of weird battery indicator or something?

When you slam on the brakes, your dashboard gets in on the action and lights up to give you a heads-up. It's super handy, especially if you’re slowing down quickly with regen braking. For me, I see two red rectangles pop up at the bottom of the driver’s display.
